We are excited to be developing AHA! at Briarcliff, our new, 27-unit, integrated apartment complex for people with and without disabilities.
The complex will serve households with incomes below 50% of the median family income* and will provide housing for between 35 and 60 individuals in its mix of one and two-bedroom units.
Choice, integration, and location
Exceeding federal integration standards, half of the units at the complex are accessible and the other half are adaptable. AHA! at Briarcliff provides the maximum amount of choice, integration, and comfort.
The complex is located near two bus lines, one mile north of the Mueller development and one mile east of Capital Plaza. The location offers access to jobs, doctors’ offices, grocery stores, shopping, and services.
Additionally, AHA! at Briarcliff also strives to achieve four of five stars on the Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) Multi-Family rating tool.
As a partner of the State of Texas’s Section 811 Project Rental Assistance program, we will offer up to six homes for extremely low-income people with disabilities exiting institutions, people with serious mental illness, and youth with disabilities exiting foster care. We will also offer money management and financial literacy courses as a partner of the Financial Literacy Coalition of Central Texas.
Other committed supporters and partners also include: the Housing Authority of the City of Austin, City of Austin, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, the Lola Wright Foundation, the Bank of America Community Foundation, Austin Community Foundation, and Frost Bank.
