We have opened AHA! at Briarcliff, our new, 27-unit, integrated apartment complex for people with and without disabilities.
The independent living complex serves households below 50% of the median family income and will provide housing for between 35 and 60 individuals in its mix of one and two-bedroom units.

Choice, integration, and location
Accessible Housing Austin! (AHA!) has partnered with the Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) to develop a three-story, 27-unit apartment complex that is accessible, affordable, and integrated housing. This is a wood-frame building serviced by two elevators in order to make both the first, second, and the third floors fully accessible to people with physical disabilities. This is an independent living facility. We have administrative staff on-site part time with office hours to serve our tenants.
The project includes 15 one-bedroom and 12 two-bedroom units. All units will include a bedroom(s), living/dining area, kitchen, and bathroom. The complex is located near two bus lines, one mile north of the Mueller development (Opens in new Window) and one mile east of Capital Plaza. The location offers access to jobs, doctors’ offices, grocery stores, shopping, and services.
We have achieved a coveted four-star green building certification from the Austin Energy Green Building program by including energy-efficient design, deeply affordable housing, access to public transportation, as well as numerous community amenities.

In accordance with federal integration standards, at least six of the units will be dedicated to people with disabilities, and the other units will be available to people with or without disabilities. Housing Choice Vouchers (Section Eight) and other vouchers will be accepted. All units will be affordable to households at or below 50% MFI.
